The Vector Core will provide mycoplasma PCR test services for cultured cells monthly (or postponed if it is a legal holiday). The specific testing time will be notified to the CIBR laboratories by email at the end of the previous month.
Note: The Vector Core does not accept any cell test samples of BSL-3 and above security levels.
Please use laboratory as a unit to apply for mycoplasma PCR test service according to the following process.
a) The applicant needs to culture the cells to be tested for 3-6 days, then take 2 ml of the supernatant into two 1.5 ml sterile microcentrifuge tubes (A tube is used for testing and B tube is used as a backup) and labeled the sample name separately, and store it in a refrigerator at -80 ℃ temporarily.
Note: It is recommended to prepare the samples to be tested in that month, and the storage time should not exceed 1 month.
b) Please ask each lab manager to collect the required test samples for the month in a laboratory, fill in the "Mycoplasma PCR Test" (Form VC412), and send it to the Vector Core administrator (Ju Yingzi, juyingzi@cibr.ac.cn) by mail before the required time, and hand the marked samples to be tested to the Vector Core administrator (Ju Yingzi, Room 1013) at the required time.
c) After the Mycoplasma PCR test experiment is completed, the Vector Core will feedback the test report by mail within one week.
Note: The Vector Core currently uses Shanghai Yeasen GMyc-PCR kit (Cat # 40601ES20) for mycoplasma PCR test. For specific methods, please refer to Nat Protoc. 2010; 5 (5): 929-34.
