In order to promote the sharing of experimental materials, the Vector Core will establish and manage a shared library of cells and plasmids, and provide shared services for plasmids and cell lines in the laboratories of CIBR. In order to reduce the workload of sharing experimental materials, the Vector Core will also assist laboratories in CIBR to provide shared materials to other units and laboratories. All laboratories are welcome to include their own plasmids and cell lines in the shared library and open to researchers in other laboratories of the CIBR.
Note: Sharers must confirm the correctness of the submitted shared materials. The Vector Core will also try to assist in confirming the shared materials through sequencing and other methods.
Researchers are asked to share plasmids and cell lines according to the following process.
a) Sharers are requested to check the updated sharing list or the homepage of the Vector Core (under construction) regularly to confirm that the cells or plasmids to be submitted for sharing have not been included in the shared library.
b) After obtaining the consent of the laboratory PI, the sharers are requested to fill in the “Material deposit Form” (Form VC53) and send it to the Vector Core administrator (Ju Yingzi, juyingzi@cibr.ac.cn) by email, and copied to the person in charge of the laboratory (PI or the director of technical center) and the director of the Vector Core (Zhao Fei, zhaofei@cibr.ac.cn).
Note: Please ask the person in charge of the laboratory to sign the sharing form to confirm the sharing of the experimental materials.
c) The Vector Core will reply to the email as soon as possible, and confirm the specific information of the shared materials with the sharer, such as cell name, culture medium, culture conditions, precautions, plasmid sequence map, use, resistance, cloning method, applicable E.coli strains ("Plasmid info " Form VC54 or "Cell line datasheet" Form VC55), and communicate the time of submission of shared materials.
d) The Vector Core will collect the shared materials at the scheduled time. For shared cells, cultured or frozen cells can be provided in good condition; for shared plasmids, plasmids or monoclonal plates or bacterial solutions of E.coli strain containing plasmid can be provided.
e) The Vector Core will use the information provided by the sharer to expand, freeze, and detect mycoplasma in the shared cells; for shared plasmid transformation, glycerol cryopreservation, and plasmid storage, sequencing verification will be performed if conditions warrant.
f) The Vector Core will complete the experimental material information with the sharers and update the shared library list information in a timely manner.
